Two engineers,
one workbench,
building the interface between your hand and the machine.
On Zero is a pre-seed hardware company designing modular gloves for VR and robotics. We started in a share-house in Sydney with a soldering iron, a 3D printer, and the conviction that the best interface for the next decade of computing wouldn't be a controller — it would be a hand.
Two 19‑year‑olds.
One drop‑out form.
Both founders left Australia's top engineering program to build On Zero full-time. They were 19. Their parents were not thrilled. The prototypes were.

Was teaching quantum physics to PhDs before sitting her first uni test. Dropped out of quantum engineering at 19 while building an open-source rig to type in mid-air — inspired by Sombra from Overwatch. Founded the fastest-growing hardware community in Australia along the way.

On Zero is creating the hardware layer for infinite world building.
Infinite world generation is the future of XR. But it needs to be done in a way that rewards imagination — not just "AI games" and infinite slop. The future is in the hands of the individual, not corporations. We're here to make sure everyone, from indie to experienced, gets a fair opportunity to make art. Because games are just an extension of humanity's infinite love of campfire stories.
On Zero is here to make the paintbrushes for creators — from the hardware level to streamlining publishing — because it's inevitable someone will do it, and we want to make sure it's done morally.
"On Zero" is based on the love of starting from nothing in all avenues of life — a company synonymous with intellectual freedom and the thrill of creation.
Our founder, Freesia Gaul, grew up in VR. Constantly moving homes as a kid, virtual reality was more of a reality than real life. Watching its rise and fall — seeing corporations slowly push their "visions" onto the industry and increasingly harvest data with no valuable outputs from it — made her mad. VR was her childhood. Suddenly she found herself in the world of hardware and business, able to build her own way back: from the controller, up.
"The PS4 remote for your hand."
On-site gesture detection and haptics — so you can touch any video game or simulation you want.
- 01Mid-range is the hardest range. We live there on purpose.
- 02Ergonomics isn't a feature. It's the prerequisite.
- 03If the user can't open it, they don't really own it.
- 04Ship slowly. Ship right. Ship something repairable.
- 05The interface should feel like nothing — and that's the whole point.
